Welcome to Sparkbrook Masjid

Sparkbrook Islamic Centre and Masjid was established in 1967 and started off in a terraced house on Andertin Rd, Sparkrbook for the purpose of establishing Salah for the community.

It was the second established Masjid in Birmingham at the time.
In 1979 it was relocated a few hundred metres down the Road when the community purchased five shops. A prayer hall was built in the garden of the premises and the rooms were used for Makhtab classes.

As the community grew so did the need for a larger and more suitable Masjid, with this in mind, derelict land was purchased adjacent to the existing Masjid from the City Council.

In 2005 a purpose built Masjid was opened by Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Lord Nazir to the public.
